Hey all.
As many of you know I am a team leader over at Namepros. Well recently Namepros has updated to the latest version of vBulletin.
As part of this upgrade are social groups. Most people decided to spam these and create silly groups (like all new features people like to play with them). Well the groups got me thinking.
Like many people I am good at 1 certain aspect of developing sites (PHP) but am not so good at design for example. This is usually the problem people have. Well I came up with an idea!
The idea I had is as follows. We create an invite only social group. The group would consist of roughly 5 members. Each member would have a specialized role (such as PHP, web design, asset design or content writers for example).
Each person would bring their own domains to the table that require development. And in turn each member would work their magic on the domain names. Essentially this is a like a skill swap.
At the end of the day everyone has a developed site to show for it.
If worked correctly this could be quite a money maker for everybody. Instead of domains sitting empty doing nothing they could now potentially be developed and either sold or earning money. The idea does not necessarily stop their.
The following is not part of the group at the moment but is a possibility for the future once the group shows they gel. The group could obtain domains with the aim to sell on in future. While people are unable to continue on 1 of the other members sites because they are waiting on something else they could be working on this other domain the group is aiming to sell.
