Google Misleading Adword Customers?
Recently I was playing around in Google Webmaster Tools and found that I was ranking first for a particular term. I decided to see how popular this term is so signed into my Google Adwords account and found something a little surprising.
When I looked into the keyword tool I found that the average search volume bar was about 10% filled as can be seen below:-

I then decided to see how much this placing was worth so I continued onto the traffic estimator. What I found was a bit baffling as can be seen in the following image the average search volume was now suddenly 20%:-

Now what is the cause of this discrepancy? If you are a cynic you will notice that when you are at the traffic estimator stage you are in a buying mode and higher traffic figures may influence your buying decision.
Is there a valid reason for this discrepancy or is it a case of Google massaging the figures to suit your mode.
