Assassin’s Creed On The XBox 360.

I received the Assassin’s Creed game on the XBox 360 on Friday.

After much delays and anticipation does it satisfy or disappoint.

I was not 100% sure whether to buy this game or not. When I first heard about it I loved the idea but not sure whether I should take the plunge or not. I eventually decided that I would and I got the game on Saturday.

After 2 days I have actually completed the story in the game, I was not exactly playing it night and day (although I did have a couple of long sessions) so was not expecting to finish it so early. Neither was I playing it with achievements in mind yet at the time of writing this I have 760 achievement points from the game (My Profile).

As a whole the game was enjoyable but it did get somewhat repetitive many of the things you had to do within the game were all the same and the cut sequences just took over the game. Don’t get me wrong the cut sequences were good but after the first time you watched them you just wished there was some way to get them to shut the f&$k up and let me get on with playing.

I would hazard a guess that 40%-50% of my playing time was just watching cut sequence, some of which I must have watched 5 or 6 times.

Despite some of it’s flaws Assassin’s Creed is a good game but I feel that so many opportunities have been missed here. The map is expansive and quite complex, the developers could have used this so much better. Imagine also what you could have done with a multi-player feature, either as a 2 player mode or an XBox live mode. The potential is endless.

I strongly suspect that there will be down loadable content for this game very shortly. I just hope they do not try and cash in and provide good content cheaply (or freely of course) to help make this game what it could have been from release.
